Meet the Founder
For nearly thirty years, I have had the privilege of teaching and mentoring students in leading international schools across North America, Europe, Central America, and the Caribbean. Currently based in Montreal, Canada, I have worked extensively with students studying the U.S., Canadian, and International Baccalaureate (IB) curricula.
My work as an educator has extended beyond the classroom. I have trained teachers in effective instructional practices, critical thinking, and inquiry-based learning, and I have led service-learning initiatives that empower young people to engage meaningfully with the world around them. While directing the Roots & Shoots program in San José, Costa Rica, I helped develop a highly successful student-led initiative that was recognized through a personal visit by Dr. Jane Goodall.
Over the years, I have been honoured to receive awards for excellence and innovation in teaching. Yet the most meaningful moments of my career have always come from seeing students discover their own potential and achieve goals they once believed were beyond their reach.
I founded Calah Math Academy to offer something more personal than traditional tutoring. Through individualized coaching, mentorship, and relationship-based learning, I work closely with students to strengthen mathematical thinking, develop executive functioning skills, and become confident, self-directed learners.
I believe that meaningful growth begins with trust. Every student is unique. Lasting success comes when students feel understood, supported, and empowered to take ownership of their learning.
